These are female Java Rice Finch's (Lonchura oryzivora). These are terrific looking birds, and get along very well with other birds. With one breeding pair already having babies, we hope to have a couple of males from them to breed with these adult females. The breeding pair (not pictured here yet) are magnificent looking parents, if I do say so myself.



The bird below is a one of the baby Java Rice Finch's. Still in juvenile coloring, the beak is starting to turn to adult coloring. This birds parents are just about ready to wean the next two babies. They will join these youngsters in just a few more weeks.
Here are the (and we hope, a pair) Owl Finch's sitting together in their cage. Babies in the Spring? Sure hope so.
